Requires anesthesia?
The latest laser technology used by Destattoo is less painful than traditional lasers. Patients actually report less pain than when the tattoo was initially performed. However, you can apply a topical anesthetic before each session.

How many sessions are usually required to remove a tattoo?
Two to four sessions for removing skin spots, with at least three week intervals, for removing tattoos, the sessions is an average of between 8 and 12 depending on the type of tattoo, colour, depth and ink density.

Is the treatment very long?
Normally about 15 to 20 minutes per session, but always depending on the extent of tattoos or spots that will be removed.

How much time must pass between sessions?
The sessions are done every 4 to 6 weeks, it is best not to let more than 8 weeks between sessions as the removal process slows down and the results take longer to be seen.

Can you sunbathe?
You have to protect the treated area covering it for 5 days and have to use total sun protection until normal skin tone resumes and during the first summer following treatment.

Do I have to take any precautions after?
To prevent infection, for five days after treatment it is recommended to apply an antibiotic ointment every 8 hours and cover the area. To obtain the normal tone of your skin you need to use total sun protection. The treated area should not be exposed to heat sources such as swimming pools, saunas, hot tubs, stoves, etc...

Will I have any side effects?
At the conclusion of the session a small swelling of the affected area may appear and a flushing sensation that disappears soon afterwards.

Do I have to do maintenance sessions?
Tattoo and spot/stain removal are permanent However, in the case of spots although effects are evident over the treated area new spots may appear.

It can be combined with almost any technical aesthetic medicine as any other laser procedure for example, hair removal, vascular lesions, etc...
